Acute disease

An acute disease, unlike a chronic disease, has a relatively clear and definable starting point. The development of such a disease usually takes place suddenly and over a shorter period of time. An acute illness is triggered by microbiological pathogens such as bacteria or viruses. As a rule, a period of 3 – 14 days is common.
